I am a 25-year-old Youth Services Librarian and Early Literacy Specialist at the Grayslake Area Public Library in Grayslake, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with my Masters in Library and Information Science in December 2016. I have previously worked at the Community Library as a youth services librarian, library assistant and a library aide, in addition to serving as the youth services intern at the South Milwaukee Public Library from September 2015-2016. In 2014, I received my Bachelor of the Arts degree in journalism from Marquette University, where I proudly served as the editor-in-chief of The Marquette Tribune my senior year.
I was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, but have had many incredible opportunities to experience other parts of the world. I studied abroad in Paris, France during my time as an undergraduate student, and have also traveled throughout the United States, Ireland, Spain, Mexico, the Bahamas and my personal favorite (so far), Morocco.
In my spare time I enjoy reading; writing; hiking; traveling; staring at/petting/cuddling/taking pictures of my cats, Mushroom and Pongo; antique shopping; restoring furniture; practicing yoga; cooking; sharing love and laughter with family and friends; experiencing nature, tattoos; photography; film; originality; good humor; great music and tea of any kind. I also, of course, cannot pass up a good book.
